Very sad to hear of the death of Murray Ball.

I'm sure all the Kiwis and the people from Aus here will have known his Footrot Flats comics.

Yes, very sad to hear of his suffering.

The cartoons have been such an iconic part of our culture. We introduced the cartoon books to Riley a few years ago and she has been reading them ever since, over and over again whenever they take her fancy. We also watch the DVD cartoon movie as a family every once in a while. Wal was the the spitting image of Steph's father. Same build, wool singlet, boonie, shorts, Perth gumboots.

So many great memories.
