John MitchellNew barrel is launching 180 eldm at 3210fps. .accuracy and es are great. 75.5 gr h1000 with 28 inch krieger barrel. Looking forward to taking it past 300 hundred meters |

Nathan FosterRe: PracticalFor me, 74gr H1000 / 2217, 3000fps, 10fps, .3" and .36 in field position with a fouler which is great. I could perhaps play with it a bit more and try for a a bit more speed and perhaps a better ES but this will do me for now. Chris's rifle is right on the normal sweet spot node for a 180gr.Both Chris and my rifle are near max at 75 and 76gr. Greg Quick's rifle (different brand of barrel) is maxed out at 74gr or so. I expect his might yield 3000fps at 72-73gr. |

John MitchellRe: 7mm Practical 180gr ELD-M loadsMy initial loads were 74 .75 .76 h1000. Barrel seemed to like both of the upper 2. No pressure signs. Loaded 10 and chronoed 5. Es was 12 but 4 were 6. Group was.5. Shot the last 5 at 300 meters ringing the 3" steel gong. I still need to go back and work on it some. But pretty hopeful. |
