Bob Mavin

Hello,
I just signed the petition, "Victoria Police, Victorian Police Licencing and Regulation Division, Victorian Police Commisioner: Do not re-categorize Lever Action Shotguns from Category A, and stop punishing law-abiding gun owners.."
I think this is important. Will you sign it too?
Here's the link:

Thanks,
Bob

In NZ you have to be on the ELECTORAL Roll for your signature to count on a petition.? Just another fish hook policy.

For Thomas & others,

We are very heavily restricted, policed & licensed here in OZ and more so in Victoria & possibly NSW.
No semi autos at all for general shooters, pump actions in rifles only with limited mag amounts.
Lever actions are currently allowed but due to the interest & demand for these new 5 & 7 shot 12g shotguns that are about to be released the do good Green factions want these banned as well. At first they were pushing for rifles as well.

Hence these partitions!

hmmm lever action shotgun? sounds pretty dangerous to me, better not make them with pistol grips or it will surely kill someone.

Wow Sabastian.
That's a strange comment, you obviously haven't used one. All firearm's are dangerous & a lever action is no more dangerous than any other rifle.

It's the nut that holds the gun or knife or club that's the problem!

sorry bob my above comment was being sarcastic as i find the laws in Australia and nz quite strange as to what is classified to be dangerous or not.

done bob thanks for clearing up the rules.
we are very lucky here as we licence people not guns. might be one of few countries in the world where you can buy a gun in the morning and can be hunting that afternoon.
but we have to fight to keep that right.

please do an update if anything changes

HI Bob, I signed a while ago. It appears this has been on the agenda for a while now. I have heard that they have been discussing reclassifying pump centre fires, lever actions and so forth for the past 6 months or so. The Adler has brought this out into the open. All I can hope is that because the economy is going so poorly at the moment, they're going to have a tough time getting a "compensated confiscation" through due to the lack of funds.

Yeah heard the same thing a while ago Mike.

A lot of Hound hunters down here use the Rem pumps in 06 & whelen never mind the all the levers so it would be another big buy back for sure.

If you look at the stats, Illegal guns are the major problem in our society, like many others so knocking around law abiding hunters is another ridiculous kick in the balls! Realistic storage infringements etc. fair enough, keep em safe or lose them!

All this crap because of one halfwit, in another state with bullshit laws all those years ago. Give me a spell, was knee jerk over reaction then and the same again now. Oh my josh that 12ga has a magazine of 5 or 7 shots, scary stuff!

sounds like the prime ministers getting involved.

does this have to go through parliament for a vote?

It doesn't appear so Thomas. The order has been blocked until the firearms review is done. He's probably used one of those "anti-terrorism laws" to rob the Aussies of their freedom.

Re: Stop punishing law-abiding gun owners.."
And the western governments have laser guided bombs, armies with hi capacity automatic weapons, which they wield against other countries in the name of freedom ?Our Police have APCs and military style weapons to use on the general public as they see fit to hunt down their respective enemies or to quell any opposer to their own repression for the Capitalist gains?
The true measure of a human's intentions is " How they treat people who are of no value for their gain and how they treat humans without the means with which to fight back! It feels and seams that our governments only want us to be good tax paying slaves. To which they are obsessed with making laws and regulations that keep me and you stuck in struggle street.
Politicians seam to ensure that they always have "The Bravery of being out of range". They get paid regardless ......... set their own pay rises and nothing is going to hurt their own position of wealth and lifestyle. It appears that they can't loose ! Win or lose they still get paid..........? I'm telling my kids that they should aspire to become one....

Signed.

Anyone interested in letting the Australian Government know that they are targeting (pun intended) the wrong people when it comes to further firearm restrictions can use this letter.

A very well written (not by me) and well researched letter.
