Cartridge was 7.62x39 from a Kalashnikov rifle. Standard FMJ military round, 25 meter range, 45 Kg wolf
 
While FMJ 7.62x39 ammunition normally produces pin hole wounding and very little trauma outside of the central wound path, we can see some evidence here of yawing from the guide's rifle. This would be typical of a bore in very poor condition. Such rifles produce terrible accuracy out long but can be deadly in close.
