.30 cal - Hornady FTX

The pictures below are of a 90 pound boar shot at a range of 30 yards with a .30-30 running 160gr Hornady FTX bullets.  This load was chronographed at a little over 2,300fps.  The boar was shot in the dark, he was quartering away from the hunter.

Below is the entrance wound and the recovered FTX jacket which had separated from the core.

The core of the FTX continued on, raking the full length of the rib cage before arresting at the beginning of the sternum - base of throat.
